HOW TO PLAY DEWAPOKER LIKE A SHARK IN LOW-STAKES GAMES
Low-stakes dewapoker games are where most players lose money. They limp weak hands, call too much, and fold when they should bet. You won’t. This guide gives you the exact plays that separate sharks from fish. No fluff—just the moves that print money.
KNOW THE TABLE DYNAMICS BEFORE YOU SIT DOWN
Watch three orbits before you post. Count how many players see the flop. If it’s 50% or higher, the table is loose. If it’s 30% or lower, it’s tight. Loose tables = play tighter preflop, bet bigger postflop. Tight tables = steal blinds more, bluff less.
Spot the station. The player who calls every bet with middle pair is your ATM. Tag him in your head. Never bluff him. Value bet him relentlessly.
FIND THE NIT. The player who folds to every raise is your free money. Raise his blinds with any two cards. He’ll fold 80% of the time.
PREFLop RANGES THAT CRUSH LOW-STAKES GAMES
Open 15% of hands from early position. That’s pocket pairs 77+, suited broadways AJs+, KQs, and suited connectors 89s+. Fold everything else. Fish call too much—don’t give them cheap flops with trash.
From middle position, open 20%. Add suited aces A2s-A9s, suited one-gappers 79s+, and offsuit broadways AT+, KQ. Still tight. You want to play multiway pots with strong hands, not marginal ones.
From cutoff, open 30%. Add all suited aces, suited connectors 56s+, and offsuit hands like KJo, QTo. The button is where you steal. Open 45% from the button. Any two broadways, any suited ace, any suited connector, and any two cards 7+ if the blinds are tight.
Small blind strategy: defend 50% of the time. Call with any suited ace, any pair, any suited connector, and any broadway. 3-bet 10% of hands—only premiums like JJ+, AK, AQs. Don’t get fancy. Fish don’t fold.
BIG BLIND DEFENSE: CALL WIDE, FOLD TO AGGRESSION
Call raises from the big blind with 60% of hands. That’s any pair, any suited ace, any suited connector, any broadway, and any two cards 8+. Fish raise too wide—exploit it.
If the cutoff raises and the button calls, fold everything except pairs 88+, suited broadways, and suited aces. Multiway pots are death for weak hands.
If the preflop raiser bets the flop, fold 70% of your range. Fish don’t bluff enough to justify calling with second-best hands.
POSTFLOP BET SIZING THAT EXTRACTS MAX VALUE
Bet 50% of the pot on dry boards. Example: flop comes K-7-2 rainbow. Bet small. Fish call with any pair. Don’t give them a reason to fold.
Bet 75% of the pot on wet boards. Example: flop comes J-T-9 with two hearts. Bet big. Fish chase draws. Charge them.
Bet 100% of the pot when you have the nuts. Example: you flop a straight on 8-9-T. Bet full pot. Fish will call with two pair or a draw. Let them.
CHECK-RAISE BLUFFS THAT WORK IN LOW-STAKES GAMES
Only check-raise bluff on boards where fish have weak hands. Example: flop comes A-7-2 rainbow. Fish c-bet with air. Check-raise 2.5x their bet. They fold 60% of the time.
Don’t check-raise bluff on coordinated boards. Example: flop comes 9-8-7. Fish have draws. They call. Don’t bluff.
Only check-raise bluff when you have backdoor equity. Example: you have 6-5 on a 9-7-2 board. You can hit a straight. Fish don’t expect it. They fold.
VALUE BETTING LIKE A MACHINE
Bet when you have top pair or better. Bet 50% of the pot on the flop, 75% on the turn, and 100% on the river. Fish call with worse. Let them.
Bet when you have a strong draw. Example: you have J-T on a 9-8-2 board. Bet 50% of the pot. Fish call with worse draws. You have 15 outs. It’s +EV.
Bet when you have a weak made
